We are searching for a Junior IT System and Network Administrator. The candidate will be expected to have responsibility for performing IT Operational duties, basic troubleshooting, working on tickets, monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day IT infrastructure
  • Provide technical support in a professional/friendly manner and respond to requests for IT support
  • Responsible for the installation and configuration of new software and hardware, including the server network - physical/virtual, devices and equipment for new users
  • Manages user accounts and assets, assigns and updates security permissions on the network according to security policy
  • Monitor network to ensure optimal performance
  • Log requests and incidents in the ticketing system
  • Keep an inventory of equipment, software, and licenses
  • Create technical support documentation for systems/applications and keep current Knowledge Base updated
  • Performs all critical data backups and secures data according to established procedures
  • Evaluate and recommend security improvements and system upgrades
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

Requirements:

  • High school degree or equivalent; bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
  • Technical knowledge and IT education
  • Experience with helpdesk or IT support
  • Experience with Linux system administration
  • Read, write and speak English fluently, including technical concepts and terminology
  • Up-to-date knowledge of new systems, information, software, and upgrades
  • Knowledge in troubleshooting and diagnostics nice to have
  • Networking skills – CCNA or similar would be an advantage
  • Knowledge in IT equipment, IT Equipment settings and functionality
  • Familiarity with any of the following technology: Network Monitoring Tools, Active Directory, DNS, VMWare, XEN, Nagios, Telnet, DHCP.
